Managing and Trading Subdomains as NFTs

The ILov.eU, pronounced 'I Love You', platform provides a comprehensive framework for creating, managing, and trading subdomain NFTs. The ILov.eU Marketplace now supports three primary subdomain acquisition and management options, catering to different user needs:

1. Creation and Initial Minting

  • Subdomain NFTs are created through a minting process on the ILov.eU platform. Users can register new subdomains by specifying the desired name (e.g., brand.ilov.eu) and connecting it to a primary hub (e.g., nyc.ilov.eu or celebrities.ilov.eu).
  • Each subdomain minting is subject to a one-time fee in ILU tokens, which ensures scarcity and value for the NFT.

2. Trading and Licensing Mechanisms

  • Once minted, subdomain NFTs can be listed for sale on the ILov.eU marketplace or on external NFT platforms like OpenSea.
  • Subdomain owners can set license agreements for their NFTs, allowing short-term leasing or revenue-sharing deals with third parties. This opens up new ways for owners to monetize their digital property without giving up full ownership.

3. Inheriting Hub Contracts and Business Models

When a subdomain is linked to a hub, it inherits contracts and business models relevant to that hub. For example:

  • joespizza.ilov.eu could inherit culinary contracts from restaurants.ilov.eu, enabling booking, menu management, and event hosting features.
  • lebernardin.ilov.eu could link to michelin.ilov.eu to receive prestige ratings and exclusive event opportunities.
  • Subdomain owners can opt-in or opt-out of specific contracts based on their strategic needs, creating a tailored experience for their business.

Subdomain Management Options

  1. Full Ownership: Users stake the full amount of ILU tokens required to mint and own the subdomain permanently.
  2. Proxy Ownership: Users stake a partial amount for a limited period to secure temporary rights with an option to convert to permanent ownership by staking the remainder.
  3. Temporary Rental: Users stake a reduced amount for a predefined period (e.g., 1 year) to gain short-term control for low-stakes, personal, or temporary projects.

Each option has distinct requirements, token management processes, and governance rights, providing users with flexible choices based on their objectives and risk tolerance.
